Simon Mears’ experiences in the Security
and Aviation industries spans the past 18 years,
the past 15 years of which have been served on
five respective long term contracts working into
and out of East, Central and Southern Africa,
Europe and North America.
Initial and Security
Agent training and experience was achieved towards
the end of the 1980s. Simon also attained his
Canadian Commercial Pilot’s Licence Multi-Engine
Instrument Rating in 1990, but decided shortly
thereafter for personal reasons to revert to Security
and ground operations in 1992.
During
the past 15 years, Simon has had the pleasure
of working closely with Foreign Governments (including
the UK, Canadian, Dutch, Russian & US Governments,
overseeing the Diplomatic Protection Units, Embassies
and Residences), Multi-National Corporations (such
as BP Amaco, Oil Com and Shell International),
Banks (including Citigroup, Standard Chartered
and ABSA), Gold Mines (including Ashanti, Anglo
Gold and Resolute), Insurance Underwriters (in
the City of London), Airlines (including British
Airways, KLM and South African Airways) and International
Tour Operators. His expertise of working in the
difficult third world conditions is matched by
his experience of dealing and working in the developed
world.
